Description
Based on a story known as The Request for Immortality originating from the Menomini people of the Mississippi Valley.
One day, a group of men went on a journey west to the home of the diety Manabush in hopes of having their wishes granted. After reaching the land of Manabush, all but one man ask for medicine to improve their luck while hunting.
The last man asks Manabush to live forever. Manabush rose and lifted the man by the shoulders and carried him to his resting place and said, "You shall be a stone, thus you shall be ever lasting." The other men immediately ran out of the wigwam and went home, preserving the story of Manabush.
