Reposted from @cgumfa (@get_regrann) – Please join us next Monday, October 7 for our annual Atlantic Lecture featuring artist, Jeremy Dennis @jeremynative – Dennis is a contemporary fine art photographer and a tribal member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton, New York. In his work, he explores indigenous identity, culture, assimilation, and the ancestral traditional practices of his community, the Shinnecock Indian Nation. Mixing research with visual arts, he examines the unique experience of living on a sovereign Indian reservation and the conflicts they face in the heart of the Hamptons.Dennis holds an MFA from Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania, and a BA in Studio Art from Stony Brook University, New York. He currently lives and works in Southampton, New York on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation.The lecture will take place at 4:30pm in the Board of Trustees Room — 150 E. 10th Street, Claremont, CA 91711 – #regrann
