Jeorgkee – Indian Whaler

Introduction

Jeorgkee is an Indian whaler who is documented in an agreement dated April 7, 16791, “[Jeorgekee] goes to sea to kill whales for Jacob Schillinger of East Hampton and partners.”2

Wainscott

Wainscott, once known as, or pronounced, Georgica or george cake, was named after the Indian who formerly lived on the neck named Jeorgekee.2
