Gallery interior with artworks and projected images — temporary header for The Course of Liberty

The Course of Liberty

A solo exhibition by Jeremy Dennis

Airtight Garage
30 Northey Street, Salem, MA 01970

Opens Saturday, November 14, 2026. Planned to remain on view through mid-December, with December 11 as the currently documented minimum run date. The final closing date is to be confirmed.

The Course of Liberty continues Jeremy Dennis’s Rise series through new photographs developed in collaboration with members of Salem’s community. The exhibition connects Indigenous histories and contemporary perspectives with questions of place, identity, and liberty during the 250th commemoration of the American Revolution.

Developed with Airtight Garage curator and founder Rachel TonThat, the project treats the gallery as both an exhibition space and a place for conversation and collaborative production. Local participants will contribute to the creation of new work in the days leading up to the opening.

What to expect

The project includes at least three new works continuing Rise, alongside opportunities to engage with the artist’s process and the themes of the exhibition. An artist talk or workshop is planned for early December; the date and time will be announced when confirmed.

Opening and visiting information

The exhibition opens November 14. Reception hours, regular visiting hours, and the final closing date are still to be announced. Please confirm visiting details with the gallery before traveling.
