Visit the exhibition

October 17–November 22, 2026. Regular gallery hours are Friday–Sunday, noon–5 PM. On opening day, Saturday, October 17, the exhibition is open noon–7 PM, with an opening reception from 5–7 PM. Admission is free and open to the public. All times are Eastern.

Placing Water brings together art, research, sound, storytelling, and participatory projects that examine waterways and the histories carried within them. The exhibition connects ecological concerns with colonial and industrial legacies, drawing on places including the Hudson River, waters around Long Island, the Erie Canal, and Lake Michigan.
