About the exhibition

Marking the centennial of George Grosz’s Eclipse of the Sun (1926), the exhibition brings his work into conversation with politically engaged art from the Heckscher Museum and Art Bridges Foundation collections. It considers how artists respond to conflict, migration, civil rights, media, and environmental change.

Curated by Karli Wurzelbacher, PhD, Chief Curator, with Meredith A. Brown, PhD, Consulting Curator of Contemporary Art.
